Experience THE BALLAD OF TAM LIN like you’ve never read it before…
It has been seven years since Jeanette Sauderheim followed her best friend into Carver Hall Park...and came out alone. Jeanette has never gotten over his mysterious disappearance nor has she gone back into the park. While that traumatic night still haunts her, Jeanette distracts herself by balancing her time between trying to pass Spanish, hanging out with her friends, and reading the latest manga.
But, when a promise to a friend drives her back into the park, she's forced to re-live the memories of that night. Lost and confused, Jeanette crosses paths with Tamrin, whose violent reaction to her provides yet another reason to avoid the park.
Tamrin, a knight of the Summer Court, has been sent to Earth to guard a garden of roses that hold special meaning to the queen of the Summer faeries. When his distraction at meeting Jeanette leads to her picking one of the Summer Queen’s roses, Tamrin vows to right his failure to do his duty.
However, the equivalent of one of the queen’s roses is a human heart and Tamrin’s reluctance to readily exact the sum from Jeanette sets in motion a spiral of love, betrayal, and magic that could mean damnation for them both.
*This is an Upper YA paranormal romance novel with NA and contemporary fantasy appeal.

My Opinion
I really really love stories about faeries. I love how heartless the queens usually are and that's a little weird for me because I usually only like the good guy in the story. I guess it's different when it comes to Faeries because I love them good or bad. The human characters in this book are very realistic with very real life situations or problems like rape abortion and jealousy. I really enjoyed reading this book but I would only recommend it to adults because there is a lot of talk about sex. I'm excited about the whole Hill Dweller Collection though and can't wait to read them all! Read the guest post to learn all about it!
Guest Post
One of my readers suggested I do a guest post talking about what's coming up after FOR YOUR HEART.
I shall explain to the best of my ability. FOR YOUR HEART is the first book in the Hill Dweller Retellings series which is part of a larger Hill Dweller collection…Which is a branch off of my Dark Covenant series.
I know, it's like a Matryoshka Doll! I confuse myself! LOL
For the purpose of this post we shall focus on the most relevant books which are those in the Hill Dweller collection. The Hill Dweller collection focuses on the Dark Covenant universe's spin on faeries, Otherworld, the faerie courts, and the Nephilim (Aos Si). The Hill Dweller collection is made up of three smaller arcs: Retellings, Protectorate, and Waymaker.
After reading FOR YOUR HEART, what everyone emails me asking is: What folktale/fairytale/myth are you going to work on next?
Well, Retellings #2, FOR YOUR KISS, is a retelling of The Little Mermaid with a twist.
Then readers want to know when's that one coming out?
When I give them the answer that Retellings #2 it's not coming until Protectorate #1 and the Waymaker #1 come out, they get confused, and want to know why?
So I say, "Well because all the books run on a timeline. Retellings #1, Protectorate #1, and Waymaker #1 all take place at the same time chronologically. All the Hill Dwellers books take place in the same universe with a lot of cross over characters. So, if you read the Hill Dweller books in this order: 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3 you'll get the full effect of being in everyone's head all at once and nothing will be spoiled for you."
After I explain that, they are like, "Oh, Okay…Well, I know the Retellings books are one-off fairytale retellings, but what are the other two series about?"
The Protectorate arc is still about the Aos Si. However, as you continue to read the Hill Dweller books, you'll find that not all the Aos Si are on the same team. The Protectorate arc follows the baddies you'll love to love/hate (because I have a thing for likeable, sympathetic bad guys). These are also all one-off novels, so like the Retellings, every book will have a new set of main characters (with cross-over characters from previous and future novels).
The Waymaker books specifically follow the same main characters throughout the whole story arc. These characters are Taylor, Lacey, and Connor. They get their own story arc because they have a very complex and beautiful story arc that ties together a lot of the mythology of the Hill Dweller universe and brings many of the characters from the Retellings and Protectorate arcs together in the end.
And finally, the readers say…"But, but, I want to know what happens to Tamrin and Jeanette. And what about Micah?!"
I chuckle and say, "Calm down. You'll see Tam and Jean again. There's a reason Tamrin is friends with Connor. And as for Micah? He's got some growing to do before he's as wickedly hot as his father, so let's give him some time to go through puberty and come back to me after his parents have helped overturn a godly decree damning all Aos Si to hell."
*Gasp* Did I just drop a spoiler?
